DIGICEL (TONGA) CELEBRATES SUCCESS OF 'DIGI BOOM'

Wednesday 6th April 2011: Digicel (Tonga) celebrates the massive success of its original music program for the Kingdom ‘BOOM’.

The most talked about show in the kingdom, BOOM, is now showing on TBC, TV2 and DigiTV channel 2 every Saturday at 6pm. BOOM is hosted by Digicel’s own David Hala, who has the kingdom booming with excitement with their Digicel mobile phones. The one hour program includes the latest music, gossip, current affairs, DigiNEWS, and the most popular item still Digicel promotions.

David Hala, Host, says: ‘With the help of ‘Digicel Mobile Money’ we’ve been able to hook-up our fellow Tongan’s with free ringtones, wallpapers, phones, tablet PC’s, laptop’s and cash! The program lets us speak direct to the people of Tonga and keep them up to the minute with the greatest music, the latest news and the hottest prizes. Also I gotta mention the dedications, Tonga is loven’em,  and all you have to do is txt your dedication to 2666 (BOOM) and we read it out. BOOM!’

Digicel makes it a point to support emerging talent through their key sponsorships of music and education. David Hala was discovered when he entered the Digicel Stars Competition. His new role as host of BOOM will keep him busy during the second season, Digicel Stars 2, coming up next month.
