DIGICEL (TONGA) SURPRISES A COMMUNITY IN NEED.

Thursday 21st April 2011: Digicel (Tonga) continues to spread their Digi love to communities in Tonga, Nukunuku in specific.

The village of Nukunuku’s water supply was affected because they cannot afford diesel (due to the rise of oil prices) to pump their water throughout the whole village. Digicel was there to the rescue, providing not one but two barrels of diesel on Thursday April 21st, 2011 at Poutele Hall at Nukunuku.

Jack Bourke, Digicel (Tonga) Commercial Manager said, “This donation is the beginning of more things to come from Digicel (Tonga) as we want to continue our wonderful relationship with the Nukunuku community. It shows our commitment in helping to improve the economic development throughout the Kingdom”.

The villagers were so grateful because Digicel really made a difference in their everyday lives. One of the village’s noble representatives Vaea Ma’afu expressed his appreciation saying, “I am very happy for the donation made by Digicel (Tonga) towards our community, I have heard on the radio the many donations and support Digicel has made towards the other communities in the Kingdom. I am also delighted about the exciting promotions that Digicel has to offer for the people of Tonga as I always tune into the radio to Kitione Mokofisi’s program, I LOVE MY DIGICEL”.

The village of Nukunuku showed their gratitude by offering Digicel’s (Tonga) team with the well known “green basket” filled with roast pork and other Tongan food.

This type of appreciation and gratitude tells everyone something BIG about Digicel (Tonga).
