Tuesday 5th October:  Ending weeks of exciting competition, Digicel Star’s, the show that has gripped Tongans locally and internationally culminates in this final naming Filipo Lemoto of Hala’ovave as not only Tonga’s but also the Pacific’s very first Digicel Star voted by the people of Tonga.

Digicel lives up to its promise to deliver a grand Finale for the kingdoms first ever Digicel Star’s final. With suspense building all around in the lead up to the highly anticipated Final night, finalists Jessica Makueta ‘Afa of Vaini and Filipo Lemoto of Hala’ovave were keeping busy going to radio interviews, talking to their fans on air, visiting Vaiola Hospital’s Childrens ward, singing for the sick children and presenting a Free TV for the childrens Ward.  Digicel also brought back unforgettable talents found on Digicel Star’s to perform one more time for the crowd in a Block Party Hosted by Nokia, Leiola Duty Free and Coca-cola to celebrate the success of Digicel Star’s just before the final night.

With Thousands of spectators flocking in to catch the highly anticipated Digicel Star’s Announcement to name Tonga’s first ever Digicel Star, supporters for both Jessica and Filipo both celebrated at the end of the night for the win.

Filipo is receiving a prize package which includes an all Expenses paid Business class Trip to Trinidad to be part of Jamaica’s Digicel Rising Stars Competition sponsored by Digicel Trinidad. He has also won a Nokia N95 sponsored by Nokia as well as cash and credit sponsored by Digicel. Air New Zealand has generously sponsored Return Trips to Australia for first runner up Miss Jessica Makueta ‘Afa and a return trip to New Zealand for 2nd Runner Up Mele Nikua. Runners up have also won Handsets sponsored by nokia as well as cash and credit sponsored by Digicel.
